Tak Mak (pictured above, left) and Pamela Ohashi (right), and their teams and collaborators, have been honoured with the 2020 SITC Team Science Award from the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC). The international award recognizes research teams that have made significant contributions to advancing the field of cancer immunotherapy. Among the leaders in the field is the team behind Princess Margaret Cancer Centre’s Tumor Immunotherapy Program. At its inception, the program was the first of its kind in Canada, with experts in immunology, oncology, genomics, bioinformatics, pathology and surgery. Co-led by Drs. Ohashi and Lillian Siu, it has initiated clinical trials in therapies involving tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes and TCR transduced T cells, and set up a state-of-the-art cell therapy team and a comprehensive immune profiling team. 2019Dr. Ohashi elected to AACR nominating committee from March 2020 - April 2022
